Dear Members

As you know, we recently implemented a temporary local rule requiring both members and visitors to “Tee Up Through The Green”. As keen golfers you would understand that this decision was not made without appropriate consideration to you and the golf course. Our priority, as stipulated in our Strategic Plan, is to “To enhance our Members’ lifestyle through a high quality, value-for-money golfing experience”.

If we ignored the prevailing circumstances and allowed the course to be played under normal conditions for the past six weeks then we wouldn’t have had any grass left to play on. Thankfully we recently received some rain and, with the grass that we had, we have seen good growth since.

Therefore, thank you for your patience. Effective this Saturday the Tee Up condition will be removed. Lets all hope that February provides us with a little more rain to get us past Summer.

The bunkers on hole 11 were shown some love yesterday. Restoration began with manual labour and a bobcat. Turf and sand coming to complete the job. A big thank you to Bill Kelly, Maurice Nance and Andrew Tighe for your hard work. Special thanks also, to the hardworking ground staff. Your efforts are always very much appreciated.
