Join a Social Club

Swing Into Social Golf

We welcome all social clubs and players, encouraging you to join us at the friendliest club in the Inner West. Come for the golf, stay for the great food and atmosphere. We eagerly anticipate your arrival at Marrickville Golf, Sporting, and Community Club. The course accommodates all social players and groups 7 days a week, and our central location caters to many social clubs and players who choose to play at Marrickville.

Don’t Have a Handicap?

If you prefer playing golf without the pressure of maintaining a handicap, our local social group is perfect for you. Enjoy a relaxed round with great company, where the only focus is on enjoying a coffee or drink afterward. Contact our team in the Pro shop and they will get you started.

The Vets Social Club at Marrickville

The Marrickville Veteran Golfers Social Club (the Vets) arranges a competition for all members every Thursday morning. Everyone is welcome to join, just as long as you are over 50! Annual membership is $5 and new members (men and women) are always welcome. There are currently over 90 members.

Fixtures for the year are produced annually and include events such as:

  • individual stableford

  • 2 ball aggregates and best balls

  • team events, such as a four-ball ambrose and a 6 x 6 x 6.

There are weekly prizes for nearest to the pin on the 18th and drive and pitch on the 14th. In September each year a Stroke Championship is held over 2 rounds.

Handicaps are provided to all new members and these are reviewed every 8 to 9 weeks. You do not need to be a member of Marrickville Golf, Sport and Community Club and you are not required to have a Golf Link handicap.

The activities are coordinated by a strong social committee. The current committee members are:

  • President: Mick Solomon

  • Vice President: Gayle Varcoe

  • Secretary/ Treasurer: Graeme Johnson

  • Captain: Kevin Gardner

  • Handicapper: Steve Maclure

  • Assistant Secretary: John Billett

  • Assistant Treasurer: Joe Broun

Not quite ready for competition play but looking to start somewhere? Joining the Vets Social Club is a fantastic way to ease into the game.
